Trashers is a factory builder game that puts players in charge of a recycling plant. The core gameplay revolves around constructing and managing a facility that processes trash into valuable resources. Players lay out conveyor belts, build and upgrade processing machines, and train staff to optimize their operations. The game includes a variety of contracts from local governments, municipal dumps, and commercial operations, challenging players to manage backlogs, overflows, and tough materials.The story mode adds depth to the gameplay, with players stepping into the shoes of a newly elected General Manager after the previous owner disappears with the company's assets. Starting with limited resources, players must rebuild the plant and secure new contracts to get the business back on its feet. Each staff member in the plant is a character with unique specialties, such as robotics or power management, contributing to the plant's efficiency and upgrades.The game is set on a sprawling factory floor that players can expand in all directions. The art style combines pixel art for the main factory floor and vector graphics for menus and GUI elements, creating a visually appealing experience. The intuitive mouse and keyboard controls are inspired by genre staples like Factorio and SimCity, making it accessible to fans of factory builder games.Developed in Unity, Trashers is a solo project with external art support. The development timeline includes 8 weeks of pre-production, 36 weeks of production, and 13 weeks for testing and launch preparations. Aimed at casual gamers interested in recycling and factory builders.
