Adrift

Adrift is a point-and-click puzzle game where players must restore functionality to a damaged spacecraft. As the ship's engineer, revived from cryogenic sleep, players face the challenge of rebuilding power reserves and controlling subsystems to unlock new areas of the ship. Hazards like disasters or environmental threats complicate progress, adding pressure to complete tasks efficiently. The games mechanics center around interacting with various systems, including puzzles related to power generation, wiring circuits, and resetting fuses. These are paired with clicker-style gameplay to manage energy levels and unlock additional ship functions. As players navigate through a single-level starship, they solve puzzles that mimic real spaceship systems such as security passwords and power distribution. With pixel art graphics, the ship is depicted in a side-view format, with different sections gradually unlocked. The aesthetic leans into a sci-fi atmosphere, with ambient music and sound effects enhancing the setting. Despite a minimalist narrative, the dynamic between the player and a slightly lazy A.I. adds personality to the story.Adrift offers two difficulty settings: an easier mode with more relaxed hazards and simplified puzzles, and a harder one with more challenging tasks. Developed using Unity, the games technical hurdles include puzzle programming and systems integration. Though designed as a solo development project, the games production and marketing plans are still under refinement.
